Summer Song

Where beauty is, you reside -
A gentle tug at the core of me.
Like a soft melody or a riffling river breeze
That impatient selfishness could deny.
Come lie with me at water's edge
And I will heal your valiant heart,
Mend the wound inflicted there
As the ripples lave the petrous shore.
I am as constant as the tides,
Well outside the tumult of your days and
Howling gales that punctuate your nights.
I will anchor you to shore
And be the quiescent port
Where you may lay down your head, for I -
I am home.
